Chapter 1369

---

In the end, all the fuss had amounted to nothing.
While most folks had cleared out, Rhett cornered Hannah with a menacing glare. “Hannah, you messed with my sister, and you’ll regret it!”
Hannah found his threat amusing and shot Rhett a smirk. “I’m not the one causing trouble for your sister. But if you keep blaming me, I might just have to retaliate.”
Her cool demeanor made Rhett take a step back defensively. “Joselyn’s your sister! Of course, you’d team up with her to smear mine! Don’t think just because you’re over it now that it’s done. One day, you’ll pay for this!”
With that, Rhett brushed past Hannah and left, revealing Peterson behind him.
Hannah was a bit surprised, “Peterson, why are you still hanging around?”
Peterson, seemingly braver after their previous meetings, approached Hannah with caution, stopping at a safe distance.
“You weren’t scared, were you?” he asked.
Hannah reassured him with a smile. “I’m good, no need to fret.”
Turning to leave, Hannah heard Peterson’s concern in his voice. “Miss Moore! I heard Mr. Austin’s threats. Should I tell Mr. Lyons?”
“It’s just a trivial matter. No need to bother your brother,” she replied, turning back. “Just take care of yourself and don’t let anyone push you around.”

“Yeah,” Peterson muttered, watching her walk away, his face clouded with thoughts.
On the fifth floor, Hannah found Remington waiting by her door. “Mr. Lyons, did you time to wait for me?” she joked.
Remington’s usually stern face softened a bit. “I have something to talk about,” he said. “I had every room checked but no luck finding that mask.”
It was strange; the mask hadn’t left the villa. It must be hidden somewhere.
Brushing it off, Hannah said, “We definitely don’t want the cops snooping around.”
“We just need to calm the Juarez and Delgado families, and it’ll all settle down,” Remington advised.
As Hannah punched in the door code, Remington reminded her, “The contract will be sorted tonight. Tomorrow, you’re off to carry out our plans. Don’t forget our agreement.”
She paused, glanced at Remington, and grinned. “Got it, Mr. Lyons. No need for reminders.”
She stepped into her room, gave a nod to him, and shut the door firmly, her face suddenly serious.
Her original plan to stop the cooperation had to be scrapped. Too many unexpected problems had cropped up, making any move risky.
With her phone in hand, Hannah debated texting Bryson for a meeting but stopped before sending the message.
Meeting up wasn’t wise now. She opted to call him instead.
Bryson, spotting Hannah’s call, didn’t rush to answer it. He grabbed a towel and headed for the bathroom.
